Kentwan Chappell of Bridgeport was arrested on Tuesday, March 5, by the Special Services Division on Cottage Street, said Norwalk Police Lt. Terrence Blake.
Chappell's arrest was in response to a tip received in January that he was selling heroin laced with fentanyl in Norwalk, police said.
An investigation was initiated and multiple controlled purchases of heroin were made from Chappell and an arrest and search warrants were obtained, Blake said.
When arrested, Chappell was in possession of 49 bags of heroin. A field test found the heroin to be laced with fentanyl, Blake said.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession with intent to sell narcotics within 1,500 of a school, possession less than a half-ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1500’ school.
He was held on $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 15.
